ATHENA Nominations Open
The United Regional Chamber of Commerce is preparing to celebrate its 11th Annual ATHENA event on March 25. During the event, which includes a luncheon and Women in Business Expo, a local individual will be recognized with an ATHENA award for professional excellence, community service and active assistance in helping women attain professional distinction and leadership skills. The ATHENA program is an international program and this year’s Chamber recipient will receive an expense-paid trip to the International ATHENA Conference in Chicago. Nomination forms, which can be requested through the Chamber, will be accepted through Feb. 19.
The Award ceremony takes place during the ATHENA luncheon, held at Highland Country Club, 104 Mechanic St., Attleboro. The cost to attend is $30 per person. This inspiring event celebrating the achievements of women in the workplace is generously sponsored by John Hancock - Kandarian & Graca, Sensata Technologies and HarborOne Credit Union.
The Women in Business Expo will be held at 11 a.m. in conjunction with ATHENA on March 25. Businesses owned or managed by women are invited to showcase their products or services at booth spaces surrounding the dining area. The exhibit fee for members is $125 and the fee for non-members is $179. The exhibit fee includes one $30 luncheon reservation. Only 18 spots are available - reservations are first-come, first-served.

Spring Job Fair At BCC
The United Regional Chamber of Commerce and Self Help, Inc. Employment Opportunity Center is sponsoring a Spring 2010 Job Fair at Bristol Community College - Attleboro Campus, 11 Field St. on Wed., March 24. The job fair runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration for the event is at 8:30 a.m. Employers can meet and greet potential employees by exhibiting their businesses. There is no cost to The United Regional Chamber of Commerce members for a space. The cost to non-members is $50. To request an exhibit registration form, call Michael Tartaglia at the Self Help, Inc. BUSINESS AFTER HOURS AT DEAN COLLEGE
Don't miss an opportunity to network with your fellow chamber member at Dean College (in the Library Learning Commons) at 99 Main Street in Franklin on Thursday, March 11 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.. Parking is available at the Dean Hall Parking Lot off Emmons Street and Joanes Parking Lot on School Street. Signs will be posted to Library Learning Commons. Chamber Offers Social Media Class
The United Regional Chamber of Commerce has organized an intermediate social media class for businesses. Dave Lubelczyk of IMAGE Identity is presenting a workshop: Now What Do I Say?: Social Media Message Strategy. The event is March 9 at 8 a.m. in the HarborOne Credit Union Conference Room, 131 Copeland Dr., Mansfield. Continental breakfast will be provided. Registration is required and seating is limited.
